"The cement of my joy’s foundation is God"

My life has not been the same after I believed that Jesus is real and wants to have a relationship with me. Such a relationship touches every aspect of your life, because you know that you stand naked before the Creator who knows your every thought. Like my pastor once said, “there’s no such thing as ‘just another day with Jesus’ “. On this journey, one must expect an adventure, because living up-the-stream is never dull. In fact, there’s no time to be bored. It’s learning every day, about what it means to be the salt. Not just the salt that stings, but the salt that loves. One other part of living a life of a believer is a process of stripping away the “old you”. Old mindsets, habits, desires, reactions, thoughts, things you secretly wish God wouldn’t be pointing out. But when you know that God’s love for us involves purifying us, so that we wouldn’t keep fooling ourselves with elusive and unfulfilling desires, we can’t help but be thankful. Thus, I’m thankful for God not always giving me what I ask of Him. I’m thankful for hard lessons, because they spur me to seek Him – the Truth – better. I’m thankful He’s being Him – testing my trust till the last moment, and not failing. For turning my mourning into laughter, my weakness into strength, my eyes from myself, onto Him. The cement of my joy’s foundation is God, and one does not simply take God out of that which He sustains.
